12. Friday, December 30th

Well, today was a warm one. Danny and Noah started their hike with temperatures in the mid-30s and it wasn’t long before most of their layers were stripped. 🥓

Okemo sparkling at sunrise with skiers looking over the town.
The Okemo Valley really showing off for us this morning.

There wasn’t any snowmaking last night due to temperatures, but the groomers were out in full force. They started at 4:30 a.m. today, meaning everything will be fresh this morning. We had a great sunrise, a welcomed treat to the overcast mornings we have been having. Our ski pal, Hannah, met us at the top to soak in the glorious sunrise together and to enjoy the fresh groomers on the way down. The snow was very soft with a firm base underneath. With the warm temps, the snow is likely going to be soft and heavy today. Trails will develop some natural moguls on them, which can be fun, especially on the sides of the trail.

Après Tip: Today marks the first day of Après Afternoons: Holiday Edition! Head over to the Jackson Gore Courtyard for live music featuring White Steer from 2 to 5 p.m. Après Afternoons will take place every Saturday this season, too! 🎶

There are 18 lifts running today with 66 trails for your enjoyment. Today will be partly to mostly cloudy, so enjoy the sun while it's out. Temperatures will be threatening to get into the 50s today and range in the mid to upper 30s on the summit. We all know it's been busy on the slopes this week, so get creative to avoid the crowds. The Sunburst is always going to have a big crowd, so try the Evergreen Express or Glades Peak for your summit access.

"It's like spring skiing out there today... it's the perfect day for a tailgate." - Danielson ☀️
