Ted and I are coming back to you with our final hike of the weekend. We didn't get any views today, but we put in the early work to make sure you know what you are getting into up at the mountain today. 💪

'Tis the season for holiday shopping so why not support your favorite small business and snow reporting crew by gifting one of our super cool merch items! 🎁

This is the only photo we had that wasn't grey.

Once again we aiming for a 5:30 start but we officially stepped into our bindings at 5:49 a.m. It was another warm and foggy start to the day but that didn't stop us from making the trek. ⛷️ We quickly noticed we were following a hiker, not a skinner, but someone walking up in boots. For those of you who have skinned up Okemo before you know what kind of effort that is, when you are actually hiking with snow boots you could easily double your exertion. When we make it halfway up we spotted mystery hiker and was able to catch him just before the Summit. John was still waiting for his uphill gear to come in but couldn't wait to get after it, props to you John, way to get after it! 🥳

Today's Quick Facts:

🎿 Trail Count: 26/122

🚡 Lift Count: 7/20

⛷️ Today's Ski: Nordica Enforcer 94 Unlimited

🧤 Today's Gear: Helly Hansen

By the time we made it to the summit the fog had turned into a fine mist. Not active rain but we defiantly got a little wet. 💧 After a quick picture of the lack of views we were onto the fun part of the day, the downhill. The snow was soft, the temps didn't get cold enough last night to allow for things to set up so expect softer snow than yesterday. The visibility was rougher than yesterday. ☁️ I highly recommend a low light goggle or even a clear lens. We did get a break in the clouds at the bottom of Lower Arrow, the clouds may continue to move up the mountain as the day progresses but no promises, be prepared for low light today. Even with almost 100% humidity in the air I stayed dry because of my gear. ☔️ Having a good waterproof jacket and pants, makes a world of difference on days like this. I have been impresed with the Verglas Backcountry Ski Shell Jacket from Helly Hansen. Your shoulders, legs and butt tend to get wet first so if you can avoid that you will be in a much happier place! 🤗 Regardless of if you make it out for 1 run or 10 you can have some fun and then stop in at Main and Mountain, Game Bird, or Johnny's Kitchen for a drink, some food, and some socializing before you make the trip home or in my case try to finish your weekend to-do list. ✅

Pro Tip: The fastest way to improve your skiing is to focus on putting pressure on the front of the boot. You want to feel your shins against the tongue of your ski boot.
