My husband and I went to our version of couples therapy this morning, where we ditch our responsibilities and spend the first hour of our day together on the slopes to catch some fresh corduroy turns. ❤️ It’s a very positive and healthy bonding time for us in my opinion and it’s “free” (the girl math there is that we already bought season passes, so yeah, it’s basically free). 😂 But for real, actual therapy is awesome.
We simply couldn’t continue on with our Monday without heading to the mountain for some quick laps because the new snow we got overnight was just too appealing. I’m super happy with our decision because those were the best runs of the season for me so far.

Hey everyone, it's Danny. This could be a slippery slope for me from here on…. If I can prove to write a good enough report my wife and boss (aka Noah), they will expect more from me. Today’s conditions were overall great, the sun was ducking in and out of the clouds and the fresh snow was a real treat. We got the first chair on the Solitude Express Quad this morning and took Heaven's Gate to Screamin' Demon. I went so fast I actually broke my jacket zipper (true story and I'm bummed about it). 🚀
Both trails were groomed to perfection, waiting for us to make our marks. I could hear Abby “wee-ing” the whole way down like a little kid. It is was a little sticky at times due to the warmer weather and the heavy snow that we got, but the grooming team did a nice job packing it down to make it enjoyable up there. Sweet Solitude to Coleman Brook was the fastest and best run of the day for us. If you go out there today, expect to un-bind a few times to push yourself due to the sticky snow, as the snowboarder perspective here. How'd I do? 🏂
Pro Tip: The snow is sticky in flat areas like Mountain Road and the base area - get into a tuck for more speed (but safely).
