Alright, let's see if I remember how to do this thing... 🤔 Good morning Unofficial Fam, this is Abby coming atcha live from my bed as I resume my "guy in the chair" position while Noah hikes to the summit this morning. I hope you're all happy to have me back?! 🩵
Over the last week, I traded in snow for sun and was working on the Unofficial Orlando sector of our company (theme park report coming soon). 😉 While I was screaming my head off on the Velocicoaster, Noah was seemingly also losing his mind without his helpful co-pilot, me, but I'm back now so no need to fear (until I leave again in February for Unofficial Orlando trip #2). 😇
Honestly, Noah did a great job keeping the ship afloat with typos and all. 🤡 Hey Noah, for the last time, "to" and "too" have different meanings and uses. Kidding! (kinda)... But really, thank you to my best friend and biz partner for everything you do for Unofficial, our friendship, our town, our friend group, and my husband Danny. You are the best. Good morning everyone, Noah here! Today was quite the adventure; we started bright and early with a 5:30 a.m. meeting in the parking lot. Hannah, Chris, Brendan, and I were on a mission to find a sunrise. We didn't quite find it, but we had a blast anyway. 🤘
It was a warm start with some mild wind. We had a solid start showing Brendan the ropes, but after some equipment issues, he had to head down and get some boot work taken care of. That left the three of us making our way to the summit, and our chance at sunrise began slipping away as we climbed into the clouds. ☁️
By the time we reached the summit, the strong wind was a welcomed relief because we were toasty at the summit. 🍞 After a quick chat with some fellow sunrise seekers, we were on our way back down. The snow was soft, very edgeable, with poor visibility at the summit.
Chris is a Tele skier; he made some appearances last year, and I was very excited to have him back to offer some suggestions for my telemark skiing. I'm not here to boast, but basically, what I got was "no notes." 😉 Yes, this went straight to my head, and I was feeling pretty good about myself. Chris is the cool, mustache firefighter English teacher and freestyle ski coach who you wish you were friends with, so his endorsement was music to my ears. 🎶

After getting to the bottom, we decided to grab a quick coffee at the Base Lodge (but they have nothing on my nuked French press) and hopped on the lift for a couple of laps. We quickly met up with Sean, and our group was back to a four-pack. 🚡
We took a lap down Jolly Green Giant, which was actually my favorite trail of the day. I did get a couple of tips about transferring my energy between turns. Trying to unweight my skis in the transition and carry that energy into the next turn. This will be helpful as I move into some different types of snow, moguls, and trees. 🎄
One more lap and it was time to call it quits and get back to writing this report. 🫡 All-in-all, visibility will be a little low today and the snow will be soft in spots and may get skied off on steeper sections quickly. Get it while you can because the weather forecast is not looking great...
