'Twas the Friday before Christmas break and snow guns were blowing. As the morning sun rose over the mountain, not even a creature was stirring. Except for the pack of uphill skiers who find it merry to exercise in 15-degree weather. Now, gather 'round the fire as I tell you about Noah's morning adventure, all together. 📖
But first... WE HAVE A NEW PATRON! 🎉 Major thank you and shoutout to Jenn Mullen & Family! Joining our Patreon is the BEST WAY to support us, kindly. This morning's crew was quite the squad, including Felix, Jenn, Hannah, Connor, Ted, and we even brought Chris Marks along. Of course, we took the approved uphill route via Lower Arrow to Sapphire, and it was groomed to perfection, without a doubt. We saw some active snowmaking throughout the climb, not sure if I can think of a word to rhyme. The snowmaking team is focusing on cleaning up traffic spots, like the Sunburst Six loading area and trail connector points that often see crowds in knots. ❄️
If you looked up at the mountain from town yesterday, you probably thought "Tomorrow will be a better day". The snowmaking guns were turned on all across the mountain, you would think they'd need a better accountant. The snow guns are sure to be using up watts in order to cover up any grassy spots. 🔫
Overall, today's conditions are sure to please with the trails being smoothed out and ready for you to ski with ease. You'll find midwinter-like conditions with squeaky snow but without it being 10-below. It was a chilly start, but a morning with no wind is the key to my heart. 🔑
If you're a beginner looking for a smooth ride, try Coleman Brook and Roundhouse Run out for size. If you're an intermediate skier looking for a nice cruise, you must ski Jolly Green Giant or you're sure to lose. If you're an advanced skier looking for a thrill, Nor'Easter and The Plunge are sure to fit the bill. 🏁

We asked our Patrons what they think about the current conditions and how the mountain has faired since the rainfall and flooding last week. You might be surprised if you haven't skied yet, so let's hear them speak:
➡️ "Honestly, seemed like 'normal' east coast conditions. If you hadn't told me they got inches of rain earlier in the week, I'd not have known it!" - Scott D.
➡️ "Agreed, afternoon skiing was icy and skied off but not unexpected December conditions." - Anamarie R.
"If the sunrise continues to be this good, I might have to get in the hiking mood." - Abby
🚨 TOMORROW (12/23) is the Helly Hansen Morning Uphill First Tracks event, we'd love it if you got out of bed and went. Okemo is hosting this uphill party, and be sure to be at B Quad at 6 a.m. sharp to get started. This hike is guided by our very own, a dear friend and real estate agent at William Raveis Vermont Properties, his name is Joe. We hope to see you there, otherwise, you are an absolute square. 🟩
Please follow the Uphill Travel Policy at Okemo, follow the rules, and be cool about it.
