Today's adventure was a special one as Noah joined in on the first Helly Hansen Morning Uphill First Tracks event hosted by Okemo! Let's find out if he had a good time... ⬇️

The base area was buzzing this morning as skiers prepared to embark on a 6 a.m. uphill hike. Today was a special day because for once, Noah didn't climb with his normal posse. Okemo's first Helly Hansen Morning Uphill First Tracks Event took place today and it brought lots of members of the uphill community together. To start, there were only six hikers including Noah, but suddenly a large squad joined the group, making this a very exciting start to the day. Led by local Real Estate agent, Joe Karl, we were in good hands.
The group took the approved uphill route of Lower Arrow to Sapphire, which Noah noted was groomed to perfection as usual. At the start of the climb, he noticed that the base area was busy with groomers and snowmakers putting in work to prepare for a busy holiday week. Snowmaking, grooming, and some snow pushing by the cats were taking place to ensure a smooth base area. The fresh snowmaking snow is pretty granular right now, but it will get better as time goes on. ⏳
Noah spent time with arguably the most famous person at Okemo, Jeanne, the owner of the Candy Mailbox. She said that the Candy Mailbox will be opening TODAY now that Daybreak and the Morning Star Triple are open. 📬
Today's Quick Facts:
🏔️ Trail Count: 42/122
🚡 Lift Count: 15/20
⛷️ Today's Ski: Nordica Enforcer 94 Unlimited
🎿 Today's Boot: Nordica Unlimited LT 103 DYN
🧤 Today's Gear: Helly Hansen
Today's conditions are going to be machine-groomed across the mountain. We think you'll like the snow today, because even with Noah's skis that need a tune terribly, he was holding an edge really well. Trails that just got new snowmaking are never as good as trails that have been skied on over and over again, so keep that in mind as we continue to see new trails open up this week. 😇
Pro Tip: Escape the crowds and lap Morning Star Triple when it opens later today!
Overall, this event was fulfilling and a great way to connect with other members of the uphill community that we don't normally ski with. It was super cool to watch climbers make it to the summit even though their original goal was to make it halfway up. It goes to show what a little camaraderie and motivation can do when you are skiing with friends, especially if you're new to skinning. With dark and cold mornings, it can be intimidating to get out there, but all you need is a friend. 💪
