47. Sunday, January 14th

Happy Sunday, everyone! Noah here, back at it with today's report. We didn't hike today because Okemo had a special Helly Hansen First Tracks event, which allowed us to load the Coleman Brook Express Quad at 7 am this morning. ⛷️ Today's early risers were Rachel, Hannah, Cole, Ethan, Alyssa, and Brent. The first half of the group showed up one time... Hannah, Cole, Rachel, and I grabbed some complimentary coffee and doughnuts and hopped on the lift to enjoy some early morning skiing. We reached the top of Jackson Gore in no time and were greeted by an amazing sunrise. Usually, we need to break a sweat to get this kind of view, but today, it only took an Epic Pass. It was a pretty amazing day to have a special opening like this. Everyone was enjoying the view, grabbing some pictures that you don't get to take with an 8 am opening. 📷

Our first run was down Quantum Leap. The snow was firm and fast, and it was a perfect day for me to get out on my freshly tuned Nordica Enforcer 104s. 🎿 Today was actually my first day of the season with a true downhill setup, and I appreciated the sharp edges today. It felt more like winter than it has in a while. Squeaky snow and hard pack, welcome back; please stay a while. Our next lap featured the rest of our crew, and we were off to the Limelight. As we crested the headwall of Upper Limelight, it felt like a movie, the fiery sunrise, and perfect corduroy; you really had to be there. 🌅 After another couple of laps at Jackson Gore, we headed over to Solitude to join the rest of the skiers and riders out to enjoy the mountain today. Heavens Gate and Screamin' Demon were pretty sweet, Heavens Gate was a close second to the pitch of Upper Limelight for today's favorite trail.

Today's Quick Facts:

🏔️ Trail Count: 105/122

🚡 Lift Count: 20/20

⛷️ Today's Ski: Nordica Enforcer 104 Free

🎿 Today's Boot: Atomic Prime 120

🧤 Today's Gear: Helly Hansen

All in all, it was a killer day with lots of great friends, great views, getting a little extra sleep, and, as I write this, some snow flurries to cap it off. I hope some of you got a chance to enjoy it! We are heading into a cold snap for a week or so, which means snowmaking will continue to hammer down and add some new terrain; I know I can't wait for a run on Tuckered Out! 🥳

Pro Tip: Ski with friends who bring you coffee. Thanks Hannah.

Don't forget, Main and Mountain is hosting a popup with Neighborhood Noodle! I haven't heard of them before, but who doesn't love a good bowl of noodles after a long ski day? I know I do, stop by tomorrow, 1/15, from 3-7 pm for some tasty treat. 🍜
