49. Sunday, February 12th

Ah, Super Bowl Sunday is here... a day of exclusively eating appetizers, yelling at the television, blissfully ignoring your Monday responsibilities, and the only instance where you don't fast-forward through the commercials. Whether you are rooting for the Eagles or the Chiefs (I'm a Patriots fan, so I'm rooting for Rihanna) we hope your team performs nearly as well as your unmatched skiing abilities. 🏈 Noah decided to preemptively burn off all of the Loft chicken wings he will be eating later with a quick hike to the summit, and he lives to tell us about it. Keep reading for your Sunday snow report:

Okemo Mountain Snow Report
Stunning sunrise to start off this Super Sunday.

Today was a "hit the snooze button 5 times" kind of day. I finally dragged myself out of bed and hit the slopes as the sun was rising over the base area. I may have been alone, but I saw some friends along the way, including my old snowmaking colleague, Montana, who was busy getting snowmaking operations cleaned up for the ski day ahead. ❄️ They haven’t had the optimum conditions this year, but they do a fantastic job with what we've got. The Superpipe is currently in the works. I saw them dropping off a snowcat for the daytime shift to keep chipping away at it. I can’t wait to get in there when it is finished.

The views from the summit were spectacular. The sun was low in the bright blue sky and the snow was glistening with promise. The trails were crisp and groomed to perfection... I think today is going to be a stellar ski day. We are starting Super Bowl Sunday off with bright blue skies and sunshine, temperatures will be in the 30s and potentially into the low 40s in the base. If you are staying in town to watch the big game you will have a great day on the hill!

Pro Tip: Watch the Super Bowl in Ludlow because the town will be quiet after everyone has left to head home!
