That was... interesting. 😂 Good afternoon skiers and riders, it's Abby with your Sunday snow report. Honestly, today was an amazing ski day because it was 80% friends and 20% skiing. I'm trying to be optimistic here because after all, we are skiing before Thanksgiving and the last few days have been spring-like temps, which isn't great for our ski mountain. 🦃 The fact that we have any snow at all to ski on at all is remarkable, so consider that when reading into this report further. That being said, I truly did have a blast today because my friends are quite literally the best. 🏆

Before I continue, I wanted to let you know that we only have a few items left in stock in our Unofficial Okemo Merch Shop! Sizes are dwindling, so act fast and grab that early Christmas gift for the favorite shredder in your life. Click the button below. ⬇️

Today's Quick Facts:

🎿 Trail Count: 6/122

🚡 Lift Count: 2/20

Here are the main qualities you need to know about from today's ski day: moguls, crowded, sunny, soft yet icy, and die-hards. Due to warm temperatures, the mountain hasn't been able to open up an additional top-to-bottom trail, which means everyone is corralled from Upper World Cup to Lower Chief by way of Chute. The high traffic results in high-piled moguls with unexpected thin patches and sizable kickers. You definitely had to pay attention while skiing today and your speed was lowered considerably. The conditions and busy trail are not for the faint of heart or beginner skiers. My suggestion to beginners or families with children is to take caution if you choose to head to the summit before Okemo opens up another trail (hopefully Nor'easter or Sapphire soon!)

Pro Tip: Get the fried pickle chips or fried sushi at The Bull. Do it. Trust us. 🥒 🍱

On top of this, everyone is totally "out of skiing shape" (owww my quads) which meant we could only outlast the moguls and quick turns for so long. By 11 a.m. our entire group was headed to see our favorite bartender, Connor (aka Pacho), at The Bull. 🍻

Speaking of the group, shoutout to Hannah, Cole, Rachel, Danny, Alyssa, Ethan, Haley, and Noah for a great day on the hill, despite the challenging skiing that felt more like a workout than anything. As someone who finds skiing easy most days (ok that sounds really conceited but it's true), today kicked my booty but I'm grateful to have been able to click on my skis today and enjoy Vermont's outdoors. 🍑 Til next time!

"I don't know what's more thrilling, these moguls or dodging people." - Hannah
