55. Sunday, February 19th

Oh hey, didn't see you there! We're still day-dreaming about the beautiful sunrise this morning and the golden bubbles basking in the rising glow. Do I dare say that it was more beautiful than a Bob Ross painting? 🎨 I immediately regret that, we all know Mother Nature has nothing on Bob's flawless brush strokes. Alright, reeling it back in to talk about why you're all here today, and that's obviously trying to understand how Noah does back-to-back summit climbs and somehow wants to do it again tomorrow?! 😮‍💨 He's stoked to tell you all about his morning jaunt and what to expect during your ski day today.

Okemo Mountain Snow Report
What's more beautiful: the sunrise or Jen? (don't say sunrise)

It's Noah here with your Sunday morning report. I parked my car in the main lot just in time to hear the last air compressor shut down for the night. That means snowmaking was closing up shop and the mountain was gearing up for another full day of skiing and riding. I met our subscriber and ski pal, Jen, at the F-10 magic carpet, just three minutes behind our planned 6 a.m. start.

It was a warmer start than yesterday with temps in the low 20s, not much wind, and no snowmaking to traverse through. We reached the summit just before 7 a.m. to catch an inspiring sliver of sunrise breaking through the overcast. There was a mild breeze as the Sunburst Six ran through their daily safety checks and the groomers smoothed out fresh snowmaking on the summit. The snow was crisp on the summit and softer down on the base. Groomed to perfection, the first runs of the day will be great.

The Okemo Parks crew was busy getting the Superpipe ready for all you park rats. It's pretty incredible how much snow they can make and then carve out into a perfectly groomed wall or solid snow. Crazy Train park on Black Out is also looking like a smash hit.

Pro Tip: Our pals at The Loft are reppin our Unofficial Okemo coasters! If you find one, take a photo, tag us at @unofficialokemo, and use #uocoaster to get a shout-out. 🍺

Today's Quick Facts:

🎿 Trail Count: 90/122

🚡 Lift Count: 20/20

🔫 Snowmaking Last Night: Upper Arrow, Upper Sapphire, Countdown, and The Summit!

Temperatures will be warmer today, with mid-to upper-30s on top and upper-30s to low-40s in the base. 🌡️ Expect overcast skies today with a few slivers of sunshine. It's probably the move to wear your low-light lens today but you can probably shed that extra layer.

The snow will be soft today as the temperatures rise. With the increased number of skiers on the hill, trails will tend to get skied off and the soft snow will likely pile up giving some mogul-like conditions on highly traveled trails. ⚠️ If you're into moguls, hit up The Plunge. If you're into more calm terrain, visit the lower trails of Solitude Village because there's usually less traffic so you can expect it to be smoother than others.
