59. Saturday, February 25th

In true Vermont fashion, we welcome you to the weekend with temperatures below zero, snow-topped trees, sunrise views of the lush hills, and a cup of coffee sweetened with maple syrup. This morning was worth the hike with an awe-inspiring sunrise and excellent conditions. 🤩 It's turning out to be a great day to hit the slopes, so shimmy into those long johns and suck it into your ski pants because you're going to want to double up on layers. Don't let the cold stop you, because the skiing is top-tier right now. It's amazing what an 8" snowstorm combined with snowmaking can do for a ski mountain. ⬇️

Okemo Mountain Snow Report
The boys club arriving at the summit this morning!

Good morning, it's Noah here to tell you about my fabulous morning with Cole, Felix, and Mike. We met promptly at 5:45 a.m., as Felix said last night, "if you’re not early, you’re late". Felix showed up at 5:46 a.m.… 🙄 It was a chilly start, with my Subaru reading 0° degrees on the drive up the access road. It was probably colder up top, but after -20° degrees plus wind chill a few weeks ago, it wasn’t that bad. We dropped a couple of layers while we climbed and basked in the sunrise. We reached the summit in about an hour's time, switched over to downhill mode, and enjoyed an amazing run down to the base. ❄️ The snow was that cold, squeaky snow (IYKYK). The corduroy was soft, pure magic.

With the crowds in town, we expect trails to get skied off today but they are starting pretty close to perfect. With the addition of a number of trails since yesterday we are back to full winter mode and the conditions are living up to expectations.

Today's temperatures are going to be low, in the single digits, and then reaching the teens later in the day. We saw some blue sky this morning but clouds are expected to move in bringing some snow flurries this afternoon.

Pro Tip: Did you know that toe warmers work better on the tops of your feet, not the bottom? They will be more comfortable and will produce more heat. 🧦

Today's Quick Facts:

🎿 Trail Count: 113/126

🚡 Lift Count: 18/20

🔫 Snowmaking: Wardance, Lower Arrow, Hot Dog Hill, Inn Bound, Southern Crossing, Jack-a-Lope, Village Run, Fast Track, Spur Line, and in the Bright Star Basin.

❄️ Snowstorm: 8" Total

Today is Saturday, which means it's the ideal day to get into that party state of mind at Après Afternoons. Ski down to the Jackson Gore base area for live music from Pete and Mira, drinks from the Last Chair Slopeside Bar, Snowtubing & Mountain Coaster runs, a pop-up by Lawson's Finest Liquids, and fire pits and games. All happening today from 2 to 5 p.m.

Also, Hot Dog Hill has been transformed into the Vermont Family Adventure Run by Toyota. This obstacle course trail is fun for the whole family! There will be a DJ spinning tunes, hot dogs for a slopeside snack, and enter the raffle for some sweet prizes. Taking place from 12 to 2 p.m. today!
