59. Thursday, February 1st

Good morning Un-Okemo's and happy February! ❣️ The season of love is here and what better way to kick-off the month than with everyone's favorite local real estate agent, Joe Karl! He is a man of many talents; uphill skier, real estate agent at @raveisokemo, mountain-man, dad of three girls, and community member. Let's hand it off to Joe for your first snow report of February! 💘

Good Morning All! A great start to the morning... I was eager to see how conditions changed from the night before... Was firmer last night for starters.

This morning started off warmer, around 32 degrees. I knew the ride down was going to be sweet as the groomers covered every inch of the trail throughout last night.

Towards the top, there was fog and a slight breeze. My mind was searching for appropriate adjectives to describe the conditions... the same old ones get boring...

Today I will say it's like an overcooked turkey - very carveable yet some areas are firm and others are soft.

I encountered a few other uphillers and even a few off-duty Okemo employees were enjoying an uphill jaunt (Steve and Mark I believe). Jeanne and Christine were out this am and Dan Mathisson was on his second trip up and down!

Today's Quick Facts:

🏔️ Trail Count: 107/122

🚡 Lift Count: 11/20

Please note that the Sunburst Six is starting the day on hold! Watch Okemo Conditions on X for updates.

The ride down was as mentioned varying - Saphire and Upper Arrow had very firm sections of corduroy and as one would guess Lower Arrow was softer. A slight surprise was the last stretch just coming down to the base where the snow firmed up again. All and all a super fun and very carveable day!

Word of the day? Don't forget to open up and vent while exerting yourself. Zipper back up when you feel chilled...

Pro Tip: Take the Black Ridge Triple to Evergreen Express for summit access.

We have introduced a new $1/month tier on our Patreon! 🎉 Unofficial Okemo is tough to run between a couple of full-time business owners but wannabe ski bums. It takes a lot of time to write the reports, find time to get out on snow in between meetings and deadlines, and keep up with our socials. If every subscriber joined our now $1/month tier, we would be eternally grateful, and it would help our team keep going. Click here if you'd like to join our Patreon! You are our hero. ❤️

Please follow the Uphill Travel Policy at Okemo, follow the rules, and be cool about it.

Think snow,
