61. Saturday, February 3rd

Good morning, folks; it's Noah back with an uphill hike for you. I am very excited to announce the sun is out! 🌞 It felt like we didn't see the sun all of January, and there is some data to support that, but after Punxsutawney Phil announced that we were due for an early spring, 🌱 the sun finally decided to make an appearance. While I am not ready to give up winter, I won't say no to some sunshine!

The Patrons just keep coming! Thanks everyone for the support, it makes getting out of bed for our early morning adventure a little easier. 🙌 Huge thank you to Dawn and Phil, Elaine Fenick, Jim Leahy, and Kelly Fam - your support means the world to us! 🥳

Felix and I met up around 6 am for another hike; after a long week for both of us, it is a good way to reset with some exercise, fresh air, and the hope for some amazing skiing.⛷️ It was a mild start, with temps in the upper teens. We had some clouds in the sky, but they were moving out quickly, and we were in for some blue skies. After a deep dive into business, Felix has recently become my one-man advisory committee; 👨‍💼 we reached the summit. It was windier than expected, with rime ice coating the lift towers. Fortunately, both bubbles were spinning, and the mountain was on track for a seamless 8 am opening.

Today's Quick Facts:

🏔️ Trail Count: 110/122

🚡 Lift Count: 20/20

⛷️ Today's Ski: Nordica Enforcer 94 Unlimited

🎿 Today's Boot: Nordica Unlimited LT 103 DYN

🧤 Today's Gear: Helly Hansen

As we made our descent, it was obvious it was going to be a great ski day. The snow was soft but easily carvable and very consistent. By mid-mountain, we were out of the clouds and enjoying some Vitamin D. ☀️ Even with the sun out, it is still winter, and temps are expected to be in the upper teens to mid-20s today with some mild wind, so don't forget to bundle up. ❄️ The summit may stay in the clouds for a while, but don't let that scare you away; it's going to be a good one. If you haven't heard the Superpipe is open! It's been fun seeing all the work that goes into creating that thing and we are very excited to have it back in action!

Pro Tip: When it is busy on the mountain, find the path less traveled. Taking a few runs on the Morning Star Triple or Glades Peak Quad can be a good way to get some extra laps in and avoid the crowds.

We have introduced a new $1/month tier on our Patreon! 🎉 Unofficial Okemo is tough to run between a couple of full-time business owners but wannabe ski bums. It takes a lot of time to write the reports, find time to get out on snow in between meetings and deadlines, and keep up with our socials. If every subscriber joined our now $1/month tier, we would be eternally grateful, and it would help our team keep going. Click here if you'd like to join our Patreon! You are our hero. ❤️
