63. Thursday, February 8th

Good morning and happy Thursday! Jessie here working from behind the scenes to bring you today's snow report from Joe Karl. Joe got up earlier than I did to grab some sweet runs this morning - read on to learn more about today's amazing conditions!

Our Patreon family keeps on growing! Today we're thrilled to welcome Gary, Mitch, and Jennifer Bagnato to the Unofficial fam. 🩵 Your support means the world to us! 🌎

Conditions were very consistent this morning. Trails were top to bottom corduroy, already getting carved up. It's a beautiful bluebird day - so get out here! 🌞 The half pipe is open but you have to access from Sel's Choice, so either come down Sel's or take a 30 foot hike up to the entrance. The half pipe was in awesome shape!

Today's Quick Facts:

🏔️ Trail Count: 116/122

🚡 Lift Count: 12/20

Temperatures will continue to rise for the next few days, so expect the snow to soften as we head towards the weekend. With 116 trails today, Okemo is over 95% open! 🎊 Looking out my window (5 miles from the mountain), there isn't a could in the sky. I think I'm going to take Joe's advice and skip out on work early this afternoon to ski! ✌🏻💼

Pro Tip: Joe echoes my tip from Tuesday - don't forget your sunscreen on these beautiful bluebird days! This reminder bears repeating - did you know that snow is even more reflective than water? That means skiing can multiply your UV exposure even more than swimming in the ocean. ☀️🌊

We're excited to share a free family event this weekend hosted by William Raveis Vermont Properties to celebrate their 25th anniversary. Come on down to the Ludlow Town Hall at 6:30pm this Saturday February 10th for a comedy ventriloquist performance by Al Getler - see here for more info!

Wait - there's more! The Catamount Trail Association, in conjunction with FOLA (Friends of Ludlow Auditorium), are sponsoring a series of Okemo outdoor events, beginning with several skiing movies and related events on Thursday, February 15 at 7pm in the Heald Auditorium at Ludlow Town Hall. They will be screening "300 Miles Melting" and "Motherland" - see here for more details.

We have introduced a new $1/month tier on our Patreon! 🎉 Unofficial Okemo is tough to run between a couple of full-time business owners but wannabe ski bums. It takes a lot of time to write the reports, find time to get out on snow in between meetings and deadlines, and keep up with our socials. If every subscriber joined our now $1/month tier, we would be eternally grateful, and it would help our team keep going. Click here if you'd like to join our Patreon! You are our hero. ❤️
