63. Tuesday, February 6th

Hey there readers! Jessie here with your evening snow report. I was out on the mountain all afternoon volunteering with the Cavendish Elementary Snow Sports program, so this report is coming to you after hours because I just got home. 😁 This report will be a bit abbreviated since I was skiing with the beginners today and didn't make it too far from the base area. With that being said, it was an absolutely incredible day on the mountain - I hope some of you got out there to enjoy it!

A s always, sending a huge thank you to all of our Patreon supporters! Today we're excited to welcome Julie McKeon and Brian Barney to our Patreon family. 💖 We so appreciate your contributions that keep Unofficial Okemo going!

Today was a stunning bluebird day without a cloud in the sky. 🌞 Temperatures were comfortable - high 20s to low 30s - but it felt even warmer with the abundant sunshine. It looks like the sun might stick around for a few more days, and temperatures will likely rise as the week progresses. 📈 The snow today was in fabulous shape, and the guns were blasting to keep pumping out more of that beautiful white stuff. ❄️

While a piece of me was a bit bummed about staying on the lower part of the mountain on such an amazing ski day, my kiddos got to ride the lift for the first time today, and I wouldn't have missed it for the world! They were so excited to graduate from the magic carpet 🎓 and they did a fabulous job on the big kid lift. 🎉 I didn't make it too far from the base area since I spent the day riding A-Quad, but I can confirm that Open Slope, Lift Line, Gordon's Garden, and Homeward Bound were in great shape today.

Today's Quick Facts:

🏔️ Trail Count: 108/122

🚡 Lift Count: 11/20

⛷️ Today's Ski: Nordica Santa Ana

After the Snow Sports program wrapped up, I dropped the kids off and raced back out of the lodge, feeling good about my odds of making it to the bubble before for one big kid run as I hopped on the A-Quad at 3:37. I popped the bar up and was ready to jump of and speed over to Sunburst when the worst happened - my chair stopped about 20 feet short of the off ramp. 😖 After a 90 second delay my chair got moving and I raced down to the bubble, but I was too late! 😢 I threw a minor internal hissy fit, took a deep breath, and reminded myself that any day on the snow is a good day. ❄️

Pro Tip: Don't forget your sunscreen on these beautiful bluebird days! I forgot today (oops!) and am rocking a pretty solid goggle tan. 🥽

We're excited to share a free family event this weekend hosted by William Raveis Vermont Properties to celebrate their 25th anniversary. Come on down to the Ludlow Town Hall at 6:30pm this Saturday February 10th for a comedy ventriloquist performance by Al Getler - see here for more info!

We have introduced a new $1/month tier on our Patreon! 🎉 Unofficial Okemo is tough to run between a couple of full-time business owners but wannabe ski bums. It takes a lot of time to write the reports, find time to get out on snow in between meetings and deadlines, and keep up with our socials. If every subscriber joined our now $1/month tier, we would be eternally grateful, and it would help our team keep going. Click here if you'd like to join our Patreon! You are our hero. ❤️
