72. Monday, March 13th

Jessie here with your Monday snow report! I didn’t quite make it out for first chair today. Anyone else feeling groggy from adjusting to daylight saving time? 🥱 Of course, I can’t complain because I spent my Monday morning on the mountain! Apparently skiing checks several boxes when it comes to recommendations for shifting your clock – I managed to 1) spend time outdoors, 2) get in some physical activity, 3) and reduce screen time by delaying my Monday work duties for a few hours. ⏰

Okemo Mountain Snow Report
Gotta love hot laps on the Evergreen Express Quad.

Visibility is mixed across the mountain today – things were a bit cloudy at the summit – but that’s because it’s snowing people! The light flurries that began earlier today are starting to get big and fluffy, so get excited for the storm rolling in today and tomorrow. ❄️

The snow was hard and fast in some areas (looking fondly at you Quantum Leap), but soft and forgiving in others (the edges of all trails were in fine form today!). While there were a couple scrape-y spots across the mountain, they were far and few between, and the groomers did a great job dealing with the slight warm up yesterday and refreeze today. 🤘Sweet Solitude to Exhibition was my favorite run of the day. I also enjoyed hanging out in the edges of Jolly Green Giant and Arrow – the goods are often hiding on the sides of trails!

Crowds were minimal today in the calm before the storm. I ended up riding most lifts by myself – including the "sixers" and bubbles! There were plenty of people out enjoying the snow, but they weren’t waiting in lift lines, and folks were well spread out across the mountain today. 👍

Pro Tip: Don’t be lazy like me and leave your stuff in your car overnight. Your fingers won’t thank you when you have to put on freezing gloves in the morning.

Today's Quick Facts:

🎿 Trail Count: 122/122

🚡 Lift Count: 13/20

🌨️ Weather: Overcast & Snow Flurries

Get prepared for the snowstorm launching this afternoon! Yes, we've had some snow flurries and bigger flakes falling intermittently already, but the real storm has yet to come. ☃️ Sounds like 4 p.m. is when the real snow will begin, but we should wake up to several inches tomorrow morning. Tuesday will be a powder day, and Wednesday will be great for skiing powder in the glades and any ungroomed terrain.

"There’s no better place to start your week than Okemo! Woke up with a case of the Mondays, but a few hours on the snow cleared that right up." - Jessie
