75. Friday, March 1st

Hello, March! ❄️ It's so nice to see you again. I hope you bring us lots of snow over the next 31 days as the snowiest month in Vermont.

Today's snow report is brought to you by local photographer, Riley Karl! (@rileykarlphotography) 👏 She hiked all the way up to the summit of Okemo just to share today's conditions with us. What a gem. We dive into this weekend's weather forecast down below, so keep reading!

Happy first day of March!! 🍀🌈 February flew by! 🦅 It's your local ski instructor/photographer Riley Karl, with the snow report today...

It's a gorgeous day up here at Okemo with temps rising into the mid-30s at the base and mid-20s at the summit. ☀️ The sun is shining and clouds are moving out. The high winds are petering off, so it'll be a bit breezy at the top today. The morning was so serene, you have to check it out on our Instagram. 👀

I hiked up early this morning with my cousin Claire, but not quite as early as Noah & Ted from the Top, who passed us going down on our way up.⏰

Today's Quick Facts:

🏔️ Trail Count: 95/122

🚡 Lift Count: 14/20

🧥 Gear: Helly Hansen Soft Shell

As you know, we had some serious thaw happen around midweek & yesterday was super cold. ☀️🥶 But fear not! The groomers have been hard at work & Claire & I had an amazing ride down Sapphire to Arrow this morning! 🐱🤙 I think that the sun will be working in our favor to help loosen up the snow even more as the day continues.

Pro Tip: Keep an eye on the forecast! Temps & conditions are variable

Now, let's talk about the elephant in the room: the weekend weather forecast. Our friend, West River Weather Guy, just posted his weekend forecast video that you should absolutely watch. ☔️ The system will start as rain tomorrow morning, but there is a chance for sleet and freezing rain, but it looks like it'll be brief. Only 1-2 inches of rain, so nothing totally detrimental.

However, if you are trying to decide if you should drive up for the weekend, I think Sunday will be one of the best springlike ski days of the year. 🙌 With temps in the 50s, mostly sunny skies, and wicked soft snow... it's looking like a really fun ski day. Don't let the little bit of rain scare you away!

Head to Okemo's Après Afternoons event at the Clock Tower Base tomorrow, 3/2 at 2 p.m. with live music from DJ Dave. Stay updated on Okemo's socials for event details.
