76. Saturday, March 2nd

We have a very special report & video lined up for our readers this evening! For the first time, the students of Okemo Mountain School are taking over. 🙌 OMS is a winter term ski and snowboard academy, and you can often find the students training on trails like Nor'Easter, Chief, and in the terrain parks. 🤙

Today, the students are reporting on Okemo's Slopestyle Event! 🏂 Today's report is paired with a video! OMS Athlete, Cate V. took to the slopes and interviewed her fellow teammates. Click HERE to watch.

As you know, our reports are free, but we'd love your support even if it is just $1/month, it makes a big difference! 😇 Join our Patreon by clicking below, or you can support us by shopping our Merch Store.

Cate interviewed her fellow athletes, and they reported the snow surface was firm to start, but softened as the sun came out. 🧈 The weather was fairly warm, making a couple of bare spots. Overall, the snow was fun and made a great slopestyle competition day on Black Out.

Today's Quick Facts:

🏔️ Trail Count: 95/122

🚡 Lift Count: 20/20

The main snowmaking trails will have the best coverage as we head into this warm week, so stick to trails like Nor'Easter, Sapphire, Arrow, Quantum Leap, and Tuckered Out to name a few. Stay out of the closed glades trails, and have fun in the buttery soft park and bumps like the Superpipe and The Plunge!

Pro Tip: Work hard and have fun in the process!

The afternoon weather took a turn and it's been raining since the mountain closed. 😔 With temps in the 50s tomorrow, it's sure to be full-on spring skiing vibes. 🌤️ But don't fear, a few days of warm weather won't melt the entire mountain away. There is snow in the forecast for next Friday and cooler temps are on the horizon. This is simply the "Spring of Deception" and I'm sure Old Man Winter will be back soon. 🙏

A huge thanks to Cate V. at Okemo Mountain School for producing today's video content, capturing the photo of the day, and writing the snow report. OMS is an underrated puzzle piece to our amazing ski town. The school pumps out countless extraordinary athletes, most of who go on to ski or snowboard in college. It's a wonderful asset to Ludlow and the dedication of the athletes is incredibly impressive. Way to go teachers and athletes! 👏

"The moguls are pretty mogulie today." - Cate
