78. Wednesday, March 6th

Good news, Okemo still has snow! 😆 This is Abby with a quick hello and a short midweek report to clear the air about the conditions. We've received a lot of concerned emails and messages about the current state of Okemo's snow base due to the very uncool warm temps and dreaded rain. ☔️

Well, I'm here to tell you along with my trusty snow reporters, that the conditions are honestly a blast. Don't expect mid-winter conditions and you'll be more than happy with the super soft springlike stuff. 🧈 Keep reading!

Let's put a kibosh on the rumors of ski resorts closing early for the season. 🙄 Guys, it's the first week of March!!! It would be a very drastic and poor business decision to close resorts for the season this early when the snowiest month in Vermont is upon us. 🙏 I do have faith that we will see snow again, and hopefully a big snowstorm at that.

Besides, the entire mountain hasn't washed away. 😂 Yes there are bare patches and ice, but there's also plenty of groomed terrain waiting for your carves. Don't throw in the towel yet, y'all are scaring me jeesh! 🧻

Today's Quick Facts:

🏔️ Trail Count: 93/122

🚡 Lift Count: 12/20

Our reporters Riley Karl (@rileykarlphotography), Joe Karl (@raveisokemo), and our Patrons Heather and Ed Kelly (of Ski Here Now) all skied this morning and can confirm the snow is holding up well. 👍 You'll still see plenty of wall-to-wall coverage on the main snowmaking trails. Sapphire, Jolly Green Giant, Sel's Choice, and Nor'Easter were all noted as solid picks today.

It's warm, it can be wet, and cloudy, but we just gotta roll with it. Did anyone see "Island Ascutney" from the slopes today? It was epic.

Pro Tip: Doing a nightly snow dance wouldn't hurt.

In other news, the Ludlow Farmers Market is hosting a fundraiser! I'm the new Secretary and Marketing Gal for LFM, so I'd like to formally invite you. Please join us for the Depot Street Block Party on 3/20 at 5 p.m. 🎉 Tickets are $20 online or $25 at the door. Your ticket gets you access to local food, cocktails, mocktails, live music, and the incredible vibe that is a closed-down street for a block party. Click here to get your ticket!

Thanks to Riley Karl Photography for the photo of the day!
