87. Sunday, March 17th

Happy St. Patrick's Day! 🍀 You're in luck, because our golden Patron, Lauren D., took one for the team and wrote today's snow report. While the weather today was not magically delicious, it felt like the lucky charm for great spring conditions and super low crowds! 🌈 After all, the best luck of all is the luck you make for yourself.

Hey all, it’s Lauren with another Spring Sunday edition. 🌱 It takes some moisture to make a rainbow so we didn’t let the moist deter us from seeking a pot of gold on this St. Patrick’s Day. 🍯 Lil’ dude and I were first chair up the A Quad (a first for us). With green beads on, we were looking forward to a day of soft snow and the Annual Okemo Shamrock Scavenger Hunt in support of OMARA. 🍀

We greeted the crew at the 6-pack with a ‘Top of the Morning’, gratefully grabbed a granola bar, and was pleased to realize that the soundtrack that morning was fittingly Irish. 🇮🇪

First run was Jolly Green Giant 🫛 (because park and green!) and it was immediately evident that the grooming job done over night was high quality; many thanks to the crew that tends to Okemo’s grooming. Soft corduroy was an absolute delight and we had the whole trail to ourselves. 💯

Today's Quick Facts:

🏔️ Trail Count: 94/122

🚡 Lift Count: 14/20

There were moments this morning when I felt like I had all of Okemo to myself. ✌️ It was quiet and peaceful, undoubtedly the result of threatening weather. And the weather was mercurial. There was mist, fog, rain, snow, even hail and then sun. 😂 The morning brought it all but that didn’t distract from the fine spring conditions and the collegial crowd that did make it out. 👏 And the 9 runs I got in today were like the first, soft, well-groomed and a treat in exchange for heading out.

Rainbows are the result of sun and rain in combination and if you believe the myth, the pot of gold is at the end. 🌈 Well today, Unofficials, that pot of gold was at the top of the Sunburst in the sweet sweet form of chocolate coins. 🍫 We thank the Leprechaun who left them.

Pro Tip: Wrap up your day at the VT Specialty Food Tour at JG!

We will leave you with this Irish blessing:

May the winter leprechauns be near you,

To spread lucky snow along your way.

And may all the Irish snow angels,

Smile upon you St. Patrick's Day
