88. Saturday, April 1st

While it may be rainy and 34 degrees at Okemo this morning, we are daydreaming about waking up to abundant sunshine and warm temps as soon as the ski season comes to an end. Today, we are finally launching our summer plans and sharing our newest addition to the Unofficial Company: Unofficial Orlando! 🎉 Noah and Abby will be spending their summer months away from Vermont this year and in the heart of the theme park capital of Orlando, Florida. ☀️

When they were approached by the mouse himself (thanks to Abby's family connections) to start a summer series within this lucrative and highly-watched content space, they saw no other option. 🐭 Vermont, as you know, is very quiet, and slightly boring, plus there's not a whole lot of adventurous things to do in the summertime. Orlando on the other hand, has countless theme parks for us to explore. The Unofficial Orlando reporting will be very similar to Unofficial Okemo with wait and line time status updates, terrain coverage, ride pick of the day, weather updates, and pro tips around the parks. 🎢 We will be rolling out a new website, social media pages, and merch at the start of May - stay tuned! For now, enjoy Noah's Saturday snow report filled with rain, clouds, and the pursuit of happiness.

Okemo Mountain Snow Report
Launching Our Summer Series: Unofficial Orlando!

Before we are off to Orlando this summer, we still have a few weeks of snow reporting to cover. Good morning, it's Noah with your soggy "boots on the ground" report. 🌧️ You may be wondering "is it raining?" Yes, it is raining, in the base, on the summit, and everywhere in between. We did pick up a little wet snow overnight but we are back to rain this morning. The snow is soft though, and there is a thin layer of icing on the groomers starting about halfway up the mountain but you can ski right through it.

While the Sunburst was spinning when I arrived at the summit, we have some lifts on hold this morning due to the weather. ⚠️ I expect this comes from the thin layer of icing that occurred on the upper mountain. As the temperatures rise fast today, they should be able to get everything up and running quickly. If you are going out today, I would wear your Gore-Tex and spend your time on the bubble chairs. This storm system will be moving out this afternoon, so today might be the day to enjoy some coffee around the fire and plan to hit the slopes after lunch, but remember the snow will be nice and soft this morning and you will have the mountain to yourself!

Pro Tip: Planning a summer trip to Disney or Universal? Buy your tickets in advance before the parks sell-out on your desired trip days! Park tickets are limited.
