92. Thursday, April 6th

Welcome back to your early morning snow report thanks to Noah's personal obligation to ski after a rain storm. His solo hike was a unique one today as the morning greeted him with an inversion; when the temperature change due to altitude increase is reversed. 🌡️ It's going to be one of the warmest days of the spring today with temperatures nearing the 60s. This means that it's mandatory to ski in a t-shirt today... sorry, we don't make the rules. 👕 Light rain might sneak into the valley today, but here's what you can expect if you hit the slopes as we countdown to the last day of the season.

Okemo Mountain Snow Report
A view of the inversion from the summit!

Good morning folks, Noah here with your morning look at Okemo. I rolled out of bed at 5 a.m. today, took a shower, made some coffee, woke Rachel up with my squeaky boots, and was on the snow around 6:15 a.m. ☕️ It was a mild start, just a fleece over my t-shirt which was gone by the time I hit the halfpipe. The lower mountain was socked in this morning which helped create the inversion we have to start the day. It was colder on the lower mountain and warmer at the summit, which created those sinking clouds. ☁️

When I reached the summit, the skies were clear and the undercast views of the valley were amazing. 🌁 The peaks of the surrounding hills look like little islands poking up through a sea of clouds. By the time I took off my skis and set myself up for downhill mode, the wind had brought in thick clouds and the summit was back in the cloud coverage. The wind was strong up at the top but they had the Sunburst spinning and on track for their 9 a.m. opening.

Pro Tip: It's National Burrito Day! Grab yours at Mojo Cafe or Tacos Tacos in town. 🌯

The snow on the way down was soft, as expected, with plenty of coverage to keep the spring stoke alive. 🙌 This is the perfect snow to boost my telemark ego. We anticipate high-traffic trails to bump up quickly today, the soft snow is easy to move around and will be a blast on any of the ungroomed trails. If you like moguls, or even if you don’t, I highly recommend giving them a shot in the springtime. They will be soft and forgiving and by the time you get to the bottom, your legs will be burning for more! 🍗

Today's Quick Facts:
