92. Wednesday, April 3rd

Hi! It's been a minute. 🤭 Unofficial Okemo took an Easter break and boy did it feel good to go skiing and NOT write a report. Snow is on the way, so we thought we'd touch base and let you know that signs of the storm are approaching. ❄️

Today's report is brought to you by our Patrons; the Boyarsky Bros! Take it away! ⬇️

It’s spring break for us back in New Jersey. Back home the flowers are blooming and the grass is greening, and spring sports are in full force. 🌷 While we were thinking of a warm weather spring break, Vermont had other plans for us. With the snow forecast calling for more than a foot of snow this week we knew we needed to make one last ski run this season in an attempt to get 30 days. ❄️We headed up Monday and took our first laps on Tuesday. While the snow was soft, coverage was surprisingly good. 👏 That dump a couple of weeks ago really helped! We made a plan for the rest of the week and our Dad emailed Abby to see if we could send in some snow reports. 📝

So we’re going with a before-and-after approach…. Today we report on before…

Today's Quick Facts:

🏔️ Trail Count: 80/122

🚡 Lift Count: 8/20

Today, Wednesday, April 3rd, we didn’t rush out the door this AM, opting to time the weather and go for some afternoon laps. ⏰ We fueled up with breakfast at Country Girl Diner in Chester before heading to Jackson Gore to enjoy some pool and hot tub time at the Spring House. 🥓 By noon we were ready to strap on our skis. The snowfall was just starting, and if you didn’t know better, you might think the mountain was closed, because it was SOOOOO empty. With the storm rolling in, and wind blowing, we got word that the bubbles were on hold, so we headed up and over to Solitude. 🫧 Sidewinder and Heaven's Gate were both beautiful. Soft, carvable, groomers! After a couple on Solitude we saw that the Black Ridge Triple opened up, so we skied over.

From there, we headed up to ski the “always closed” Wardance (shoutout to OMS!!). It was worth the slow ride to get some speed on Wardance. The snow was drifting to sleet to rain to snow so we decided it was time to head back to Jackson Gore. 🌨️

Pro Tip: White Lightning is a great first run on a pow day.

We headed in, but our parents wanted two more! 2️⃣ They came in and told us we missed the best runs of the day. They skied Eclipse, which we all named the trail of the year! 🏆 If you didn’t ski it this season, you still have a chance! Go get it!!

Finally, they finished out the day on Tuckered Out. While it was soft and a bit thin in spots today, we have no doubt that tomorrow will be a different report! ❄️

Our readers can now expect weekend written snow reports through Okemo's closing day. For semi-daily updates, follow us on Instagram! It's where we are most active with the most up-to-date info. 📱
