Happy Thanksgiving everyone! This is one of those special holidays where the only requirement is to gather with the people you love, eat some good food, and enjoy each others company. 🦃 Abby is still in Maine with her family, but I was able to get up to the mountain and spend some quality time with my Dad and sister, Abigail. This has become a special time for us, Mom doesn't ski, but us three seem to find ourselves taking a few runs every Thanksgiving and Christmas morning. Its great to have this time and even better when the skiing is good. Today was the best day of the season so far and I can't wait to tell you more about it. ⛷️

Our Unofficial Okemo merch is dwindling! We are running out of sizes, so act fast and grab that early Christmas gift for the favorite shredder in your life. Click the button below. ⬇️

Family ski days are the best ski days!

Today's Quick Facts:

🎿 Trail Count: 12/122

🚡 Lift Count: 4 (5)/20

Abigail and I met our dad a little after 9 to take some laps before our late Thanksgiving feast tonight. Since I wasn't able to checkout Upper Sapphire and Arrow yesterday that was first run on the list. As we loaded the Sunburst we were greeted by a lot of cheer for employees and guests alike. Holidays are a great time to ski because everyone seems to be a little more cheerful and excited to be out on the hill. Skies were clear around most of the mountain but the summit was still in the clouds with a fair bit of wind. 💨 This is why the Evergreen Express is on hold right now and another reason we are thankful for the Bubble! The snow is firm in the top third of the mountain and softens up as you make your way down. Sapphire and Arrow were in great shape and one of my favorite runs. 😍 It may be because that is the trail I ski most often when I skin or because I have plenty of opportunities for shiftys. Next on the docket was Nor'Easter which followed the same snow conditions, firm up top and softer at the bottom. Each day keeps getting better and we expect conditions to continue to get better each day.

Pro Tip: Your Epic pass is now on your phone. If you are like me and are always moving your pass from different jackets or pants this is a game changer. Learn more here.

The forecast over the next week looks very promising for snowmaking which will allow the mountain ops team to focus on getting more terrain open. 🔫 We expect a push into Solitude soon and then into Jackson Gore starting December 1st. The mountain is not allowed to make any snow at Jackson Gore until December 1st because of Bear habitat so if you ever wondered why they never start the season over there, there is your answer. I would like to wrap up with a quick thank you to my family for instilling in me a love for skiing and winter. It has allowed me to create a life deeply connected to this sport that has become a part of who I am. 🎿 Abby and I would also like to thank all of the men and women who help make Okemo what it is today, Okemo may be owned by a large company, but it is the individuals who are scanning tickets, loading lifts, grooming trails, making snow, teaching lessons, and pouring drinks that makes all this possible. Last but certainly not least we want to thank all of you dear readers and followers. Without you we are just a couple of kids looking for an excuse to ski as much as possible. Your support allows us to make this passion project happen and share this mountain community with the people who love it just as much as we do. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us to have one of the best jobs in the world. 🙏
